I hate reading about seeing peoples cars getting jacked. Time that people educate themselves on proper car security and not just having an alarm tossed under the dash because that's the first place thieves go looking.

Here's a group of links to some really good thread on Honda Tech and 1 other site all about car security/alarms and how to install them with stealth. If a thief can't find the alarm or cannot figure out what is factory wiring and what is not, then they can't take it.

if you have a 2dr integra.. find a wrecked db8, buy the rear door handles and put them on yours! keyless entry.. but if your car alarm remote runs outta battery, your gonna have to crawl through the trunk..

In my opinion if you don't want your car to get jacked there a few things you should do.

1. This is the biggest one Cover your Vin numbers in the doors and especially in the front window. Easiest way get a buisness card and slide it over the vin in the window then use tape to cover the ones in the doors or make a blank plate to cover the actual VIN

The number one way people steal hondas is to go to a dealership and act like they lost there keys with your vin number and it takes 5 minutes and your sitting there wondering where your car went. Thats rule number one.

2. Layer your security it's a false assumption to assume an alarm is going to help you it's not the fact it people are used to alarms going off and rarely pay them any mind. There easy to disable and the starter kills rarely work as advertised. If your depending on an alarm to save your car or valuables then you probably need to get a ford. Face the facts hondas are high theft items.

3. Park your car where it's not easily towed chances are you however when you thought someone towed your car one of your buddies made a key and is fixing up his own car of the money he made from your parts so choose your friends wisely.

Now lets move on too how to keep your car from getting stolen.

1. The first thing to install is a ravelco system no I don't have any association with the company no I don't sell there products the fact of the matter is they work the installers are highly skilled and you won't even know how your own system works. There have been many attempts to defeat these systems and the theft rate drops to less than 2%

2. Next go to a honda dealership and install Lowjack

3. The last and final step is to get an alarm and this should be the last thing on your security list. What amazes me is people are quick to spend 20 thousand dollars on performance but they neglect the very basics of car security. Protect your investment or don't be surprised when it ends up in a chop shop in another state. I learned the hard way don't go through what I went through.

4. Now if you want to get into overkill you can order Embassy security bomb blast security window film which is a security tint for your windows. I happen to like mine I got it from CP films in virginia and it's always fun to let people hit my windows with a baseball bat and watch it bounce off. Yes it can be defeated yes I know how to defeat it no I won't assist thieves by publishing it.

 

oh by the way your stealth alarms can be defeated. Theft time goes from 2 minutes to six minutes so they do increase the time but it's not going to keep that car from getting stolen. All you need is a little device that grabs the alarms frequency and wallah your car is gone. now this may sound like some gone in 60 seconds stuff but they can be bought for 200 dollars if you know the right places to get them. I can think of 50 other ways to defeat a stealth alarm granted there better then a normal alarm don't rely on them. For those of you who don't know I was an insurance fraud investigator for 13 years. I've seen cars get stolen in every way you can imagine. Pay attention to my advice or don't cry when your stuff gets gone. Oh by the way honda fraud is up bigtime and now you automatically go under investigation when your honda gets stolen be smart because wether your guilty or not insurance fraud carries a 10 year term in most states.

Solution: Get a GPS tracking device...if they get past the alarm and manage to steal it, you'll know where it is.

We have proven time over time that a well placed and setup alarm system will help prevent your car from being stolen. 2 to 6 min. Not likely. If a theif can pull a dash out a car in 6 min in your driveway, with a alarm that he can not shut off and with gps unit calling you in 8-10 seconds. If he can do all that he really deserves the car. And your not doing your job

Relvco is the biggest pos and waste of money on the face of earth. A $500 kill switch that you could do yourself for About $12. Real easy to bypass as all I have to do is follow the trail back to the circuit that was broken. I do it everyday.

Lo jack in some cases is a okay system. If done right. Lo jack install practice sucks and every thief knows were it is hidden. Is this what your telling everyone to buy?



This was done a week before we installed a correct stealth gps system. If you can redo your lo jack you might have some protection. I have tons of lo jack fail install pics. Your better of investing in dei/mobile iq gps systems. And others.

You keep preaching about code grabers. The avarage thief thats stealing our cars are not buying equipment that cost over 100k and is illegal to have in many states. And the place to buy this stuff is not sold to the public and can not be shipped from over seas. I seen all the threads that you keep putting this ideal out there. Plus most alarms use rolling codes so your ideal goes out the window.
