I have a 1996 honda accord 5 sp with h22a swap with a p73 ecu. Car runs great but wont scan on obd2 computer???Some say i need a p13 from a 1996 prelude with no immobolizer and obd2 but like the rarest computer to find?? Is there any other answers please help car is sitting in garage rotting away with alot of money invested....PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

 

Why on earth did you put a Type R ecu on it?

 

I paid Total Performance Racing to do it 3 years ago and sits in my garage ever since i might just sell to someone outside of new york and wont need obd2 emissions to put on the road..Any ideas

 

And you have to keep it OBDII ?

Easiest is a JDM P13 or a chipped P28 and convert to OBDI

 

It had to be OBD 2 for New York state emissions and this was the only available ecu for the job. OBD 2 Prelude Ecu's have immobolizer on them and this is what they decided to wire in. Car runs great just get error code when trying to scan for inspection..

 

That USDM P13 is the only one I'm aware of, it was the odd ball year where there wasn't immobilizers but was OBDII

 

In New York Its registered as a 1996 honda and needs to be scanned via Obd 2 to pass inspections to be legal on the road. So has to stay Obd 2..Any other ideas

 

I cant find one except for a dealership maybe and pay anywheres from 700 to 1000...

 

 

 

unless you wanna buy the ecu from the dealer, but its gonna hurt your wallet
