Cutting CAI

Cut right around here. Basicly you want to cut it short enough that the filter will go on and not rub against the coolant overflow resivour.
Use a hacksaw, and then file the edges down till they are smooth.
Ok, thanks for the pic styleteg. What else do I need to undo besides that one bracket that holds the CAI to the engine bay? I dont have to remove the bumper do I?

You can take one of the hose clamps and put it around the intake pipe where you want to cut, and use it as a guide to make sure you get the cut going straight across the pipe (if you use a hacksaw).

You can take a piece of thin metal, bend the end of it at a 90 deg. angle, and stick the end under the flange on the filter, so that the clamp holds it in tight. Then bend the rest of the metal piece so that it can attach to any nearby bolt.
u dont need to, i'm running a short ram on my car with no mounting clamp it's fine, i need to make a heatshield tho the enginebay gets so damn hot. just tighten the collars properly.
Go to the hardware store and purchase a pipe cutter if you want a nice clean cut.
