should i spray copper spray on headgasket?
i'm about to do a gsr headgasket change, i bought the erisitic headgasket multi 3 layer metal head gasket and i was wondering if i should spray copper on there or leave it as it is. what's the advantages and disadvantages. also can someone give me some torque specs and order.
You don't need the copper spray. Check your torque specs, but you are supposed to tighten form the inside out.
Looking down at the engine at the 10 head bolts:
7-3-1-5-9
8-4-2-6-10
Before you put the head on the block, make sure there's no oil or coolant in the bolt holes in the block. Wrap a rag around a hanger or something. It's a pain in the *** when you're tightening your head bolts only to find out there's fluid in the block and then you have to take the head off again.

When i did the headgasket on my b20.. I did some research.. some people swear by this stuff and some people do not.. I read mixed reviews..
I ended up not using it with my OEM honda headgasket.
Instead i torqued them to specs.. (61 ftlbs) and i have had 0 issues
