My CRX 89 HF with 94 LS B18B1
Hey Guys,
Here's my CRX. Bought it in June of 2008. And now it's being used as my daily driver. I did all the work my myself (with friends too) and nearly all parts were sourced from many junkyards, craigslist, and local contacts.
Here's what it looked like when I bought it for $500.

I'll post pics of it now, later today.

Looks like the body was at least in decent condition for the price. I'm trying to get someone to trade/sell me their CRX Si with no engine/trans so I can put my own in it and get it running on the cheap. Can't wait to see the "now" pics.

I've got many more pics of the process and the car but here's what it looks like now. After body and paint and a motor swap. Here's the original motor:

Looks great man! The one I'm looking at has a perfect interior, just some body damage to the front. The guy has a fresh bumper and hood to replace the damaged stuff. I'm looking to drop a B16A in, paint, tint windows, source some OE wheels from the salvage yards and put new springs on it. Can I ask about how much the whole car has cost you? Did a great job!
Thanks guys!
I bought the car for $500. Paint and bodywork cost $850. I bought a 94 LS with the full swap for $200. Wheels and Pioneer radio were free. And I think I spent around $600 on all the other parts on the car. So that's about $2100 total.

I estimate the cost for mine will end up being $5500 after getting the B16A from hmotorsonline.com. Did the engine come complete for $200 out of a salvage? Complete with like the fuel rails, starter, alternator, tranny, etc?
Thanks! The story behind the swap is simple. I saw this 94 integra sittin at a nearby appt complex with a smashed rear end. I left a note on the windshield with my name and number. The kid's dad called me. The kid was drinking and driving and rear-ended a tree. The dad lives too far away and said he'd sell to me for what the junkyard offered him. Drove the integra over to my house and was able to swap it in about 3 weeks. Did my own work, converted my HF harness, and was able to locate good deals using Wicked Innovations and some guys on CRXcommunity.com I just waited to find a good deal. Definitely keep your eye on local yards. You can find motors much cheaper there than online. Oh and if anybody needs Integra parts, I'm parting one out. Haha
Actually the wheels survived. None of them seem to have been damaged. I'm selling them if you are interested. They are good looking wheels. You can see them on my website in my signature.
