Default double clutch with turbo help clutch?

I'm going turbo soon and was wondering if double clutching will help prolong the life of my stock clutch? Will it make gear transitions better or worse?

The more you engage and disengage the clutch, the more it wears. I assume you don't know exactly what double clutching is.

Double clutching only helps by not wearing out your synchros as fast on downshifting. I'd rather replace a clutch or two then have to rebuild the transmission.
