ok so my friend having problems with his speedo cable and i dont exactly know where it is on an 02 accord is it in the same location as all the other hondas? cause everything on his car is completely stock and seems to be all cluttered and havent really seen a stock car like that in awhile so if anyone can please help me out

 

02 Accords dont have a speedo cable. The PCM interprets vehicle speed from the countershaft speed sensor on automatic trans cars. And from the VSS on manual trans cars. Also if there is a problem with the speed sensor, the Check engine light will come on and store a relative code. If the speedo head is faulty or wiring to the speedo head is open, the check engine light will not come on.

 

where is the vss located? cause his car is a manual trans. and his check engine light is on.

 

Its on top of the tranny (of course,) near the firewall below the throttle body intake hose. Right behind the shifter bracket. You will see a 3 pin connector The VSS is held on with 2 10 mm bolts
