I think my distributor went bad so I'm thinking of swappin out the ignition Coil......my car is a 95 LS btw..... Have anyone else rebuilt there dizzys and swapped out just the ignition coil? or did you guys swap out the ignitor too.... I'm kinda on a budget here so yeah haha...

 

That's not a rebuild, that's just swaping out a couple parts. There are thousands of people on here that have changed one or both. All you need is a #2 philips. At least diagnose it before you buy a new one though.

 

The most important advice I can give you on distributors is to use a high quality screwdriver to break the screws loose especially the rotor button. I have seen more stripped out screws caused by craftsman and fine china screwdrivers on dizzys than any other screw on the car.
