not to hate on any cars in particular... but I never understood how in street legals you have so many trailered cars pulling in... defeats the purpose of "street legal".
anyhow...

...and if you are from the Fontana area, those cops are anti Import.
And on top of that, there's really no place to take any race car to race in So Cal.
You have Irwindale(noise restrictions and only 1/8 mile) and Fontana(now no slicks allowed?). Those are the only choices. So what happens to the race cars? This is limiting the places to race.
I make to much power to drive my car to the track. If something breaks I'm not going to ba able to drive my car home but at least when I go I will pull some 9 second passes unlike some of those domestic cars on the trailers pulling 12-13's

Majority of die hard racers out there arent racing their showroom stock cars and taking it to the track. Most are dedicated track cars which can be in "street legal" classes.

well said... by both parties... what is with the "no slicks "rule...what made it come about?
also, agreed as to the comment by exospeed with the amount of places to race is limited.... sux. feel free to reply.
Is Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield open every friday night or some kind of regular days out of the week like LACR used to be?
Sucks that its a good 1 1/2 hr away at least for most people.

I went there a few months back with my k20a ek and i ran open header i just think you have to have it on during their visual inspection . About the slicks i didnt know about that .and that really sucks well im still going i got bfg-force drag radials. take the exhaust off after the inspection
Even though the rules are not up to date. They still say slicks are allowed. Where did you guys hear that its not allowed? I called and emailed Fontana but still have not got a response back.
Heres a link for info.http://www.nhra.com/streetlegal/slstyle.aspx
Just checked the schedule. Seems like they have Test and Tunes twice per month and they are open for both Sat and Sun. I will be going to some of these because last year due to changes I kept making to the car and no testing I had issues at just about every event.
what I dont know is if they'll enforce the rules, you can always bring some slicks with you and some drag radials.. light up the slicks and see if they call you on it.
BTW, you cannot run faster than 10's in street legals or they send you home.
