Default Low *** HP at the wheels: Why?

I just dynoed my car and my radiator blew. Anyways... When my intake cam slipped on the first run to 8 degrees retarded, it hit max horsepower at the wheels of 124.5. isn't that too low. When set back to 0, on both, it went 115 hp at the wheels. Now I see others having hella more horsepower.

I have a b16a sirII with Skunk2 intake mani, b&m fpr, DC sport JDM 4-1 header, Short ram intake, Mugen chipped ecu. Is that too low? Or is that normal. My radiator will be fixed in the morning and I am hopefully going to have the car tuned again cuz the exhaust cam is set to 0 still. And then hopefully head out to Battle of the imports to Run.

Peace

dude you should easily be making at least ~140hp at the wheels with that engine. even bone stock.

have you had a compression test performed?

what RPM was max power achieved at?

That's not right at all. You should be hitting at least 150, at least. You said your intake cam slipped, did the tuner check to make sure you didn't jump a tooth or teeth on your timing belt? Did he check your distributor timing? Is this a reputable tuner shop?

yeah, that is really low. B16's usually dyno around 140 at the wheels stock.

with those mods, you should be in the 150's.

I have 15 inch rims with 50 series tires. Oh, i forgot, i also have AEM Cam Gears.
I am guessing it is in 4th gear also.

What the hell, that's weak. Try taking it to another Dyno shop to see if there's a differance. My friend took his LS/Vtec to one place and got 190HP then another place and he went down to 172HP.

That is weak as hell. I put down 113hp with just an AEM CAI with a 96 Ex. You are only putting down around 11hp more with all those mods? Something doesn't add up.

do you have a hp vs rpm graph that could be a little more helpfull. What about a run with a wideband o2 sensor?

Bobby, how'd the seats work out???

sorry to hear the desired HP was'nt achieved, perhaps it was the shops error...?although i think you'd realize if vtec was'nt engaging, something isnt right

wheel size does matter, cuz if he had some heavy blingin' 17'' rims, it would require more power from the car to roll 'em, cuz they're heavier, causing less hp.

HP/Speed graph doesn't really show us anything. We need HP/RPM please.

that is all they gave me. We didn't get to finish because the radiator blew up. I hope i can have my radiator fixed before 9 tomorrow so i can get it dynoed again. I was just checking to see if the dyno looks near right. V-tec was engaging, I could hear it. But the car is hella slow now. So I know the adjustable cam gears need to be messed with. It is way slower. It does feel like 124 to the ground. F-this... oh.. they dyno tune will be free tomorrow, since i didn't get to finish it.

Thanks for all the info. I would like to hear tho, from you guys with b16s what you dynoed at.

Peace

Once tuned it should be putting down better numbers. Otherwise, grab a your tools, you're tearing that bitch apart.

he should be in the 140-150 mark, wheel size would not make that much of a difference. something is wrong somewhere

most of the b16's that i have seen dyno were around 135- 150. wheels do make a difference.
