Has anyone had this done yet?
Does anyone have a print of the actual recall from honda w/ the labor steps and times?

I got "Safety Recall: ABS Wheel Sensor O-Ring Inspection" for my Civic 06 EX sedan. the wheel sensor may not have been installed properlyand do not seal the hub assemble. Moisture could cause the wheel bearing to corrode and may cause the wheel to separate and fall off (like most Dodge cars and trucks).

I got another "Product Update: Rerouting the Drive Belt" also for my 06 EX Sedan. This is the Auto-Tensioner Pivot Bolt, that can cause engine noise or a loss of power steering.

There is no recall number on my letters, however, there is a Honda Automobile Customer Service number (800) 999-1009

I plan to get my car fixed, before the wheels fall off in a turn that I can not steer through.

My 06 LX was built in early Feb 06. I had the dealer check my O-rings and they said they were fine. Every time I go there I always ask if there are any new recalls and they always tell me none that apply to my car that haven't been taken care of.

there are a few recalls out for 06-up civics

first there was the water pump bolts come loose--had to replaced water pump pulley and bolts

then there was the water pump, pulley, bolts, and belt replacement

and now there is the belt tensioner bolt and belt replacement

honda has gotten a little ridiculous with their recalls lately...i don't know what happened to their quality control.

I had it performed this morning, The recal number is 09-007. They put a new belt tensioner pivot bolt and also put a new drive belt on. They said that the pivot bolt head was breaking off and causing damage so they changed it and gave me a new belt. I have 49k on my 2006 Ex 4dr. It only affects 2006 civic 2dr/4dr and the GX models. It only took about 1.0 hr at dealer. The recall came out on Jan. 30, 2009.

Just got the "Product Update" today. Maybe this will take care of the slight vibration noise at low rpm...

The update didn't help with my idle vibration issue. I talked to a tech at the dealer and they said that a Valve adjustment will calm the idle vibration. They have been finding tight valves and idle issues related to valve clearances being tight.

Colud the valve issue be the reason why the idle dips below 500 rpm periodically? Feels like its going to stall, then it kicks back up to about 600 rpm after a second or two... does it in gear and in park.

id reccomend if this recall aplies to you get it done. we just had one of the bolt heads break off at our dealer. had to put a new block in it. honda overtightened the bolts from factory causing them to strech to much.

I'm not sure if the valve adjustment will help a hunting idle but it will smooth things out from a vibration point of view. Some of my friends cars have that issue of falling idle only when the a/c turns on, fans turn on , or there is a load put on the electrical system.

Maybe one of the more senior techs on here would have more knowledge than me.

I have an 06 sedan, how do I know if any of these recalls are an issue. I have a rough idle and sometimes I hear a loud ticking noise, but I am not sure if any of this is associated to any of the recalls. Should I get a letter or something if there is a recall that needs to be fixed?

Call the dealer and give them your VIN# they will be able to tell you if the recall is for your car.

I would not wait until the bolt head breaks, The amount of time that it takes for them to get a new block and re-build the motor and install it is too long for me. They give you a surp. belt also why not get a free wear item that would need replacing at around 100k miles any way.
