Rear wheel bearing gone bad~ how to change it?
hello ITR fellows
i am thinking of getting my rear wheel bearing changed, is there a DIY/write up somewhere? i have searched but couldnt' find anything
my friends told me for rear i will need to change the whole hub instead of the bearing is that true??

The part diagram does list the hub and bearing as one part number and is about $147 each online(fronts are about $60). The front bearings need to be pressed in, so i would think the same is true for the rear. So unless you have a press it isn't really DIY, unless you take it apart and reinstall it after you have someone else press the bearing in.
the rears are an assembly that comes with hub and bearing. take the brakes off, take the 32mm nut off the center of hub and the bearing/hub assembly slides off. the inner part of the bearing will porbably stay on in which you take a flat chisel or screwdriver and pry on it a little and it will pop off.
take the wheel off. remove the 32mm nut on the end of the hub, remove the brake rotor and it will slide right off, may need to encourage it to slide off. replace in opposite manner. the rear bearing comes attached to a new hub.
