just wondering what color i should paint my 97 ek hatch. i have a 2000 front end, black housing headlights, rep. type r front and rear lip, raised stock dx wing. full black GSR leather interior, 99-00 tails and rota slips in black. my suspension right now is stock shocks on some blue/crome areospeed coilovers. i want to keep the suspension components in crome/silver, blue, and or black. The hatch is red with a black front end. Just wana see what people have in mind. ill post some pics at like 10am its 2 am right now.

id say red, white or black. i think those colors are the cleanest.

got a question about your seats though. how well does the gsr back seats fit in your EK? was thinking about getting a set.

Eran took that photo. I was detailing that car on the other side at the time. I can't recall the owner of the car, but it's just Dark Amethyst Pearl.

There is an entire thread showing all the 6G Civic colors.

Dark colors will show scratches easier.

Light colors will hide dirt and dust, and the car will stay a bit cooler in the summer, but it might also cause glare for other drivers more than the other colors.

Colors like Milano Red seem to hide the most dirt.

Some colors (Championship White, Phoenix Yellow) are painted on a lot of cars, so if you're going for original that might not work.

Drive through car lots and look for a nice color.

Whoa, really? But isn't Dark Amethyst Pearl a dark purple? This looks more like blue to me, but maybe its just the photo.

This is my old Probe GT...pardon the tiny pic, it's the only one I can find and it used to be an avatar. I painted it this colour from silver, and I would love to paint my hatch this, too.

 

Yep. It was definitely DAP. A '97 IIRC. He's on some forums, possibly this one.

I always noticed it looked blue in some of the photos though. When I get home I'll see if I can dig up more pics of it for you.

Oh, and DAP without a clearcoat looks dark blue with a hint of purple. There seems to be blue and red (maybe purple?) pearl in the clear.

 

im partial to white. but thats also a biased opinion. however ive seen a champagne hatch and it looked extremely clean.

 

I vot for the DAP and get the SiR bumpers as well.
