need help removing/installing cam gear for b16
ok i got a leak on my cam gear seal right by the cam gear.. is there anyone who can help or have link to a thread to how to remove cam gear and install the cam gear back in???? please help H-T!!! car will be done after this installation
bump bump.. need a clue.. searched everywhere on google also but nothing.. need to know TONIGHT so i can dream about fixing it and actually do it tomorrow morning..
Well hopefully your car is in time, and if so then make sure the #1 piston is TDC then i would zip tie the timing belt to the cam gear then proceed to remove the came gear and replace the seal. The biggest thing is to not have your timing belt slip cause you do NOT want to knock the car out of time or you will have a new set of issues. hope this helps some.

Place a rod through the spark plug hole onto the piston and rotate the engine until the piston is at TDC. This can be done by eye but a dial gauge is preferable for accuracy.
Once TDC is established the marks on the cam gears should line up. Note that the marks when lined up may not be horizontal, but angled slightly. To confirm the cam gears are correct a ruler may be placed across the width of both cam gears so that all 4 marks line up and the rule is over the centre of the cam gear retaining bolts.
this came from a tuning guide I have.

forgot to mention that the piston has to be in its highest point and the intake valve has to be up.
cuz it can be up and the exhaust valve can be up.
so its place long rod/screw driver inside spark plug hole, turn till piston is on its highest point AND intake valve is up

SO piston 1 ALL the way up and intake valve OPEN. which will cause PISTON 4 to be UP as well and exhaust valve will be open. its easier to see the valves if you take off your valve cover
ok i will be doing it tomorrow after work.. seems like removing the cam gear is alot harder then putting a new head on LOL.. less info thats y..
lol. no problem. just make sure on your life that you do not move ANYTHING that will mess up the timing cuz then its a B*** to get it back.
and if you do not have the helms manual or a tourque wrench, i suggest buying them. they come in REAL handy.
