dam i miss lacr dam the rececssion shut down the home track

 

uhh actually no. The recession would have probably saved the track from being demolished.

Progress and growth actually led to the demise of LACR. The owners of the land needed the gravel or rock or whatever they did there, I'm sure because of the need and demand for gravel they produced.

 

The gravel company next door owned the land that the track was on and LACR's lease was up. They either had to buy the land or give it back to the gravel company... Trust me, there were a lot of people trying to come up with money and ideas to keep it open.. This was almost 3 years ago.. It was not due to the recession....

 

wow, gravel is taking over everywhere....

 

That sucks.

 

You might be able to argue the housing bubble caused it. The flippers needed the granite counter tops.

I believe granite is a natural stone and not man made....I remember LACR when import racing was big and use to be about having fun

 

rotorholic i feel ya, but the reason why they closed is because of the economy growing 2 fast. out here in palmdale? lancaster, it blew up . they needed the land!

 

ya now, theyre just practically gving it away. LOL

 

if their lease ran out this year , they could have bought twice the land and made the track huge for half the price.
