Help With H22 valve spring stiffness
I recently had my head apart and I noticed the valvesprings have different stiffnesses. at 1" compression 8 springs were 90lbs and the other 8 were 120lbs. I searched but I am not sure which springs go where I would assume the stiffer ones would be for the intake valves? and could I also benifit from say putting the stiffer springs on both the intake and exhaust? Thanks.
so basically you lost track of what goes where when you took it apart?
anywho, the springs should be marked, some orange, and some white. I don't exactly recall which is for exhaust and which is intake. IIRC orange is exhaust, but you should be able to find that with the handy search function, provided it is currently functioning.

I'm not sure anyone is going to have that information, not many people have measured that to my knowledge. I checked crower's site, couldn't find anything. You should look into calling some valvetrain manufacturers, they might be able to help you out.
Ok thanks Im going to check with some engine guys tomorrow and see what they have to say. Most people ive discussed this with so far think the exhaust valves should be stiffer because they don't need to compress as much as an intake valve spring would.
