Okay so about a week ago i bought my first true "jdm" car a 1991 dx ef.
Pros new 1.6 engine new tires blah blah
Cons lil front damage /fender/hood/ replaced fender now need a new hood.
I have about $1,000 what should i do first? oh ya forgot to mention its all stock.

 

If it's a DX, it has the 1.5 unless it's been swapped. I see you wrote that it is a new engine. Check the stamp on the block to see what motor it really is.

As for upgrades, make sure it has good tires, good suspension, and good brakes. Upgrading these now will save you some time later. Not to mention safety is a better investment than power.

 

Ya its been swapped with a 1.6 of a 96 ek but it has new tires just need better suspension and breaks imo

Upgrade suspension and maybe look into some bolt-ons. $1000 won't get you too far right away. After suspension you will have probably enough to do an intake, maybe an exhaust.

 

Could u do me a favor and explain what the diff between a JDM 1.6L DOHC VTEC. 160hp. For OBD0 EFI and the 0bd1 is?
