EF Drifts in The Rain BAD
90 EF sedan sitting on fat fives with goodyear tires with good tread.
i commute into the LA area (Pasadena) everyday and its been raining recently and my car has been acting crazy on these wet freeways.
i can be going about 60-70mph and i will start fishtailing for no reason, pretty bad too. I've never had a car that cannot handle the rain what-so-ever. Im assuming that if my suspension is too bouncy then i cant grip the road properly or maybe tires going a little bald.
anyone from so cal that drives on the 210 specifically during this rain? Maybe having problems? Also i see a lot of sick DA's and DC 2's going 210west between 6-7am and im kinda curious if any of them are on this site. if you are then post i want to see if you have these problems too.

I commute garden grove to fullerton (its not far but) and i fishtail SOMETIMES if i go to fast on freeway interchanges. on my old crx i used to fishtail all the time but that was cuz of my tires. how are your tires looking?
weird thing is that the last time it rained, like a a few weeks ago, i WASNT drifting like this. i dunno i just wanted to see if anyone drives my stretch of road. particularly a milano red DA that is by far the cleanest DA i've ever seen.

I dont understand why people here in so cal are scared of a little rain. try going to the mid west or new england somewhere and see how people are accustomed to it. if you arent used to driving in the rain the get the hell off the freeway.
^^ Werd. New England weather will make anyone a better driver. I ran into people that freaked out about rain when I lived in both Texas and Nevada.
To the OP: I found that when driving in California, especially San Bern county, their roads don't seem to be too accustomed to rain (read: react differently). Whether I was on my motorcycle, or in either of my Hondas, traveling too fast make the car react differently. I don't know why, but it does. Like the advice given above, just slow it down a bit.

by the way, any advice on a leaky trunk? i have water pooled where my spare is, and its seeping through to my driverside back seat carpet :-( dont know how its traveling there but still it gets soaked, i had to cut out the padding from under the carpet to avoid mold.
Keep going fast.
Is it really worth it to continue fishtailing? You might gain a slam into the median, into another car, or launch off an overpass. Where's the WIN?
It's not that people are 'afraid' to go fast in the rain, it's that people have common sense NOT to drive 70-80 in wet conditions. We don't get a lot of rain in So Cal so the oil int he road lifts when fresh rain falls. It makes it more slippery than the roads in rainy climates.
I know there are the asshats that drive 30 on the freeway... THAT slow is annoying. But 70~80? Does the 65mph law mean anything to you even in wet conditions?
It's California.... we don't get rain often.... we get dry spells for a while so oil and whatnot collects on the freeway, and when it rains for the first time in a while obviously the Freeway is far more slippery.
Fine.
Keep going fast.

leaky trunk.
try the tail light seals especially on a sedan over time they leak.
mine leaked like the trunk was open. put new tail light seals on and it stopped.

for the drifting, i'd say stiff springs + possible toe issues = sliding rear end. If tires have tread and they aren't dry rotted, they shouldn't be an issue.
