ebay coil over sleeves won't lower HELP
Hey guys, ive had a look around trying to find out the reason why on the forum but couldn't find anything. I have just purchased some "coilover sleeves" from ebay and installed them today, but i can't seem to drop the car any lower, ive tried winding the seats up to the top (raises car) and down the bottom (lowest point). I was running king spring lows on the rear and super lows on the front. Im not sure how these things work or maybe if ive installed them wrong..
Cheers for any advice or instructions as i am willing to pull them out again and do it properly..
BTW the car is a 96 EJ civic coupe and can only get the tyres to sit at the same height as the guard..
Cheers again for reading..

lol sell those things to one of your friends and buy lowering springs.. coilovers make too much noise and usually drop more and more the more you drive it..
unless you spend high dollar on a set of real coilovers and not just cheap aluminum sleeves..

i spent $710 on my TEIN basics (cheap but do the job, but IMO and from experience save up and get the SS's at the least) anywho, my coilovers are not that noiusy and they dont move. coilovers usually dont move if you tighten them properly.
I had coilover sleeves on the front of my DA back in '01
I didn't like them because you could only tighten the allen bolt so much before you strip it, and I always hated the ones you twist together to tighten...I have always been a fan of lowering springs..
Its best to get stuff from companies thats been around a while..
like Eibach,Sprint or Tein instead of no name ebay brands..
your car might look good dumped on cheap coilovers but how are the important things such as ride quality and handling

Those "universal" coilovers will not lower your car the way you want it to. Just save the money and get a nice set such as "Ground Controls" or "Skunk2". These will run about $300 or so.
Dude you gotta understand that most of us are shy to admit
we got ebay stuff... aha.. and for those who dont have ebay
stuff theyre straight ballers.
Just because they can afford 1,000 dollar suspensions they go
and blow it in your face that yours are made of a little less quality
material.. bullshit.... they all do the same, though you do get better
results with name brand ****...
but like they said, you pay what you get for.. so its not going to be
the smothest ride but at least your getting on the map...
as far as your problem.. take some pics of your setup.. remove your
tire and lift up your car. take pics and im me.. im hardly ever on here..

It has nothing to do with being a "baller" Some of us would rather not have any suspension stuff at all than put crap on our rides... With buying no name crap off of EBAY you always run the risk of it not fitting right or failing down the road. You can buy a set of Tein S tech springs for less than $200. There is your drop right there and they are meant to run on stock shocks... Plus its from a reputable manufacturer...
Remember your coils will only go so low, ebay or not, and will only go so high. Whatever you do don't chop your springs because that is ruining your springs and you might as well throw away your money. Also, what about your shocks/struts stock or not? My suggestion if you can't fix it, Tokico HP (Blues) and GC Coils will run you close to $700. I've had these for a couple years and no problems.

theres hit or miss, i cant slammed my rear there at the lowest right now and still like a finger gap on one side, the other 1.5 finger gap, but the fronts i tuck alil bit with half the coil left, the shocks are good though

OP: do you have pictures of the install? Maybe you put something on wrong. How low does the car go? Stock height? lower? more details.
