INTEGRA with a b20b motor??
i found an integra with a b20b motor with type r tranny from japan, and i was wondering if this is a good/reliable motor and trans? its the older motor with about 100k on it, 126hp and 131trqe. so let me know if this is a good motor to by in an integra.
thanks.
thanks.
Well the motor isn't really a motor to keep if your not going to convert it to VTEC or turbo, or like in other words not a good motor to keep stock, but a very good building block for future modifications so it's really up to you and your goals you make for it .
shouldnt be too bad. think it like this...its pretty much like a ls motor but more torque but less hp. also, its a plus, you have a itr tranny(lsd). how much they want for it? yea, like paul said, depends what you wanna do with it? just dd or race?
Its actually been proven that with the LS intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and ECU the b20b motor can make just as much hp and more tq than the b18b/a stock. Search it up on here, there is a ton of information on the b20b swap.
In CA, the b20 isn't a legal swap in an integra. Thus, check out your local smog laws before you buy the car.
I would say the b20 is an upgrade from the b18a/b. It would out run the b18a/b all day! Additionally, a b20 with I/H/E would be just as fast as a stock gsr if not faster. I say it's faster than a stock GSR because I have one in my integra and I run 15.3 consistently at full weight. I would think that you would need to have a perfect run in order for a stock GSR to hit 15.3 on the 1/4. Just my $0.02!
