how to install springs
does anyone have a DIY for install of springs on a 5th gen accord (94-97).
one question in particular, which way do the rear springs go? does the eibach name right side up or upside down?
thanks

If you're buying Eibach's, it'll say Eibach right on the spring. Once you pull the old springs off, you can see how the new springs go back on, but to make it even simpler, they've printed their name right side up, so if you have to do a handstand to read the name, then it's upside down.
The front and back springs look completely different, so you shouldn't mess up the order, but if you do get confused, the rear springs have more coils that are grouped tighter together at the top. If you're still confused with this, the springs have numbers on them which are sometimes the spring rates and sometimes the part number. First thing to do is take the numbers and match them with the box to determine whether or not they're part numbers. If they're part numbers, you can see which are front and which are back, if they're spring rates, than the higher number goes in front.
Springs are pretty straight forward.
- Remove strut and proceed to work bench or floor, or wherever you want to assemble at.
- Use spring compressor to compress old spring, then remove nut on top of strut.
- Decompress springs and discard.
- Put new springs on new struts (or on old struts)
- Cut bump stops in half.
- Install bumpstops, gaskets, and strut mount.
- Tighten nut.
- Put back in car.
- Go drive around for and listen to funny clanking noises for a few minutes, then come back when the noises are gone.
- Take pictures of your car.
- Post them up in the appearance section.
- Let all the ricers in the appearance section give you a thumbs up.
- Go on with life.
