Icon6 EF or EG shift linkage?

i went to check out an eg hatch today to possibly buy it, i noticed something funny, the shifter was cocked way forward, i pulled it down thinking it was in 3rd gear or something but it was in neutral.. i immediately notcied someting was funny there so i squeezed the shift boot to see if there was someting underneath and to my surprise it felt like the rubber boot that comes with those 4psd ef's.. is there a difference between ef and eg shift linkages that would make the sifter sit cocked all forward?? i should know this but im confused..

Maybe somebody threw in a dual bend short shifter? Why don't you just look?

nah its definitely not a short shifter, and 1st gear is wayyy too close to the console, 2nd is where 1st should be (on a stock shifter setup) and so on and so forth.. its just too far up. i forgot to mention its a z6 motor not a b series so it cant be an integra linkage either..

perhaps it's a modified shift linkage?

I have a B series in my 95 hatchback, with a shift linkage from a del sol VTEC. It had to be cut, shortened and welded in order to fit. When in 3rd, it looks like it's in first. 5th looks like it's in 3rd. Oftentimes while on the freeway I'll put the car in neutral and shift to 5th just to be sure.

I got a B-series shift linkage, but will a stock shifter from a D16Z6/EJ1 fit?

After thinking about it I wondered if there was a possibility that it was installed backwards too.. Ef linkages are shorter than eg's, but I'm still stuck on why the hell is that 4spd rubber boot on there! Lol.

Thats normal, they all have that. Its to prevent exhaust fumes from entering the car, it also cuts down on road noise and prevents excessive heat from the exhaust from coming up around the shifter.
