The grill was filled in stages with flashing and fiberglass tape using epoxy to create a solid backing, then built up with kitty hair, skimmed with light filler, and finish glazed...it's not a fly by night job. Additionally, the inner and outer grill sections were epoxied and then the remaining lip was sanded smooth, skimmed with light filler, and finish glazed.
