You better not buy the GSR head if you don't know the answer to this question. You are going to **** yourself.

I bought a evo 2 off some kid for dirt cheap for my gsr and i think it came off of an ls. he took it to a muffler shop and had them extend the mid pipe by 4". I went to put it on my gsr and it's 4" too long. So i would recommend buying the exhaust for whatever chasis your working with. chime in if this is incorrect...

there is very little difference if any, i have an ls-v with an ls evo2 cat-back and when i purchased this product i checked the model numbers on the two different systems and it was the exact same. i might be wrong about this but if there is any difference the gsr application is just a tad larger in diamater. the fitment is exactly the same, the platform of the car is exactly the same (94-01) there is no difference what so ever. if you are going with a stock build a smaller diamater would probably be a better application. what i found is that with stock specs- after headers, intake and catback, you loose a little bottom end... its to free flowing, you need some back pressure to keep a good launch. you will have alot more topend.

I am saying that if you don't know something as inane as which exhaust (ls or gsr) to put on your ls you better not be ****ing with anything as significant as lsv.
With that said it depends on the header you are running, not the head. The rest of the posts in this thread are bullshit. If you have an ls header you need an ls exhaust. If you have a 94-99 gsr header you need a gsr exhaust. If you have an 00-01 gsr header you need either an 00-01 gsr exhaust or an ls exhaust.

This you are wrong about my friend, from top to botton and front to back, all with the exception of the itr, b series exhaust manifolds measure out to be the same as far as bolt up fitment is concerned. pipe sizing and design changed a little from model to model and year to year but from the head to the cat. they all line up, the jdm itr header pipe size is different (2.35-2.50 depending on the year) and does not line up with the factory exhaust... some fitting is needed, in that case you would buy a itr cat and exhaust to make things go together more smoothly.
