Is honda bond needed when replacing valve cover?
i just finish painting my valve cover. i have an all new gasket set ready to install. do i need honda bond in the flat spots by the cams and vtec solenoid? or will i be fine with out any? thanks in advance
In any case, just to have the gasket sit still while putting the cover back. But having a tube of honda bond around is pretty much a MUST HAVE if you plan on doing many D.I.Y.

I would suggest it if your installing a new gasket... but you can always wing it and see what happens
Gray RTV will work in a pinch. You just need a small dab at any "corners" on the gasket, i.e. the angle on each side of each cam hump.
I use Honda Ultra Flange Sealant myself. Comes in a bigger tube than Hondabond HT and works the same.

yes, I just did a valve adjustment and whenever you pop off the valve cover make sure the surface is clean and free of oil, and put a strip of RTV / hondabond on the corners and by the cam
