vouch this, especially if they've been on there for 20 years. they break everytime.

there is two type.
skinny non seatbelt door version
fat/thick seatbelt door version.
what model is your 89 crx? not sure if you can remove them without breaking the tabs, but you can always glue them back on

I managed to remove one of those once without breaking but I needed t get the window track (or whatever its is called) out first.

I tried taking the passenger one off today. I snapped the 3 metal clips. It has some weight so if you glue them make sure to use strong stuff. The dealer sells them new for around $80.
