Default Has anyone ordered ITR calipers

So, anyone order new calipers from Acura for the Type-R? Are they fully built or do you have to put them together? I mean I have no problem putting them together just asking. I'm guessing acuraoemparts is the only place that sells them. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to share. Any body that has actually purchased them new, feel free to chime in- I would love to hear about the experience.

why would you need new ones in particular? you could rebuild yours... another (better) alternative would be to get legend 2-piston calipers if you're needing new ones.

i don't have type-r calipers I'm not a balla like you guys. i'm in the process of doing a swap and the price for a full brake upgrade is steep. Also, the options are limited and I worry about sourcing parts in the future. I also prefer non-drilled rotors and all the kits only offer drilled. My suspension is pretty beat up so alot will be swapped out.

Buy some from Autozone. They are rebuilt OE calipers. About $125? each with the core charge, which you obviously will not get back. Rotors are About $35.

Edit: You will have to get the brackets from somewhere.

Huh? That's like saying that you can only get a Whopper at the Burger King on 5th Avenue.

Any Acura dealership can get any Acura parts directly from Acura.

OE reman calipers come assembled, including brackets.

I'm not even sure if new is still available. Only remans are showing up for me. Can't imagine why you would want new over reman.

i dont know about R calipers but i am pretty sure they work the same for GSR cuz...
i called acura for GSR calipers and the guy told me it would be about a hundred something for the fronts and around 200 for the fronts WITH your old setup. they give you remanufactured calipers which are pretty much brand new.
the guy told me the only part that is remanufactured is the actual caliper housing but every other part of the caliper is brand new OEM parts so its pretty much like getting brand new calipers.

I mean I never really gave a thought on remanufactured. It makes sense though. I usually order parts online because they are much cheaper so that's is what I was getting at lol. I will definetly check with Bridewater Acura tomorrow. Thanks for the helps guys.
