Build and boost. I believe its better to build an engine you already know very well already. Trust me I own a B16A3, and what you would pay for my engine, you could build your car into 200 whp, while I'm stuck at 155whp.

boost or N/A? if boost, eagles/vitaras for bottome end, if N/A, PG6 pistons with valve reliefs clearanced, nice cam and a good tune and your basic bolt ons

I am in the same delima, build the D or swap a B, and right now Im leaning towards the D. I think going all out and not cheap, boosting a D will be more than an N/A B, but it should be worth it

 

d16 is you like turbo lagggggg other then that b18 yourself and call it a day.

 

I am guessing you have OBD-I since you have a z6.

I would piece together a turbo kit and chip/tune.

Read up about home made turbo kits
Search the marketplace and ebay for good deals on quality/decent stuff
When you have everything, make sure you have enough money for a chip/tune
Install, tune, and enjoy.

 

Turbo I plan on using for my D is out of the 2nd gen (pretty sure) Eclipse GST. Saw a write about it in HT awhile back. How To : Honda Horsepower has couple budget builds in it also if you want reading material.

 

okok what is the very first thing i should look into

 

basic bolt ons, intake, full exhaust and do a basic tune up on the motor. new plugs, wires dizzy cap

 

To be honest, with little money and little to no experience in building cars, I would advise against going turbo. Not yet atleast. You should definitely take a look around the FAQ thread that is stickied in the top of the forum.

 

headers exhuast intake mani (skunk 2) intake fuel injectors fuel pump spark plugs wires rod pistons and just get deeper for every ungrade if u digg
