kakimoto R exhaust Q's
anyone run this on a 5th gen hatch WITH a 22mm itr rear bar
I'm worried about clearence issues as the car does not come with the factory bar
it appears this will be a very nice , quiet exhaust but I dont want it banging into the car or the sway bar like the ITR muff I just had on there
any insight on this would be helpful.............

This could be totally off the mark here, but the Kakimoto R is made for a real EG6 right? Wouldn't those have a rear sway bar? So maybe the exhaust is made to clear the bar?

I see. Here's a question for you though:
Have all your exhaust clearance issues been with exhausts designed for US EGs or for an EG6? And that actually might be a moot point if Si hatches come with a rear bar...I don't know if they do or not.

got custom 2.5 made - hit bar
went thru two muffs that actually fit on the car with the bar on
ITR muff - fits but rubs the bottom of the car AND hits the sway
I have an Si - no rear bar stock

I am not sure if this would help.
I am running the Kakimoto R on my DelSol, and I have the Mugen 22mm swaybar, NO PROBLEM at all. Still have room left to spare.
Also, the Kakimoto R is design for JDM EG, so if the EG in Japan have swaybar stock, then there should be no problem to it!!

As long as this post has been resurrected, I had some new questions regarding the Kakimoto exhausts. I have been looking into the GT Box exhaust made by Kaki and have searched their website. I also got some sound files from Boomplustoys of the systems on some cars. The N1 was a little loud for my tastes, so i'm going to stay away from it. The Kakimoto R sounded awesome and only ran about 93db at WOT. The GT Box is also supposed to run at 93db (probably with a silencer since it is N1 style). Boomplustoys didn't have a sound file of the GT Box exhaust and they currently only make a muffler for it. I will be swapping a B20 VTEC into my hatch soon and have been looking into getting a custom 2.5" system made with the GT Box muffler since I like the look of it. This may be a long shot, but has anyone ever heard the GT Box exhaust or know where I can get a sound file of it? If not, looks like the R may be my backup. Thanks in advance.

not sure if this helps.. but I'm running KakimotoR on my Si(R) and the clearance is there, however I do hear clunking going over bumps in the right rear. I had thought it was the rear hangar on the axleback portion, but that doesn't appear to be the case and it might actually be hitting the swaybar. Regardless, I may be selling soon and trying out an ITR catback.

I don't know if this help or not, but he sound of the GT Box is quieter than the N1 even without the silencer. But if you want a quiet exhaust, I would suggest you get the Kakimoto R.
