96 civic wont budge?help me
my sis's 96 honda civic ex automatic starts but wont move like its not shooting enough fuel or something??the fuel pump has been checked/changed, alternator checked still good, battery checked still good...although for some weird reason the battery keeps getting drained quickly which i dont know why??could it be a fueling problem, a family mechanic said it might be like the computer system that runs everything/ECU i think and that its gonna cost a whole lotta...car starts but wont move...idles real low and when you hit the gas it just doesnt move the battery and oil lights come on...car has oil...throttle body cable is good checked that already too...checked compression ran normal numbers im guessing 120psi all across which should still be good..can someone help....dont want to spend a fortune..thanks
those numbers are low, however that doesnt sound like your problem. the dummy lights come on because thats what they do when the car isnt running. we need a better description because your post is kind of confusing. how did you check the fuel pressure? do you see any smoke?
car has no smoke, fuel pressure was never checked by me..the fuel pump was changed by her boyfriend but it still didnt make any difference...the mechanic that came yesterday brought his own tools and he's sort of my fathers mechanic he works as a mechanic at a big dealership here and he does side jobs i wasnt home but i guess he checked it out for a while and said that there's enough fuel to start the car but it basically looses pressure after...he said it might be a computer failure and that he was gonna have it towed to have a new computer put it plus have them run it through from the dealership or something and thats where i sort of got lost at the end...
