I cannot find anything on these things. One of the board members pointed them out to me, but I can't find anything on them except some questionable claims.

I have the J30 1999 Accord Coupe. The one that I have seen only claims to need a cold air intake from AEM. I have Injen. Is that such a big deal?

I haven't heard anything about these chips in accords, though.

These are the automotive equivilent of "Dr Hook's Snake Oil Remedy", Sky Hooks and Buckets of Blue Steam.

Most of these are no more than
.15c resistor
.35c Project Box from Radio Shack
Photoshop generated Product labling
EBay account / store

They usually show up during times where the public is paniced over Fuel prices farting and are usually accompanied by outlandish performance claims.

Save your money.

I don't have any personal experience tuning with the Unichip, but several of the guys over on 6thgenaccord.com use it (some all motor, and couple with nitrous or S/C).

P, I know it's not a simple resistor wired in with the IAT sensor. I did a little searching, and it seems to be an in-line module with OBD2 plugs. There is actually a tuneable version that allows adjustment of the fuel AND ignition maps, allows you to switch between saved maps, and possibly even allows you to skew the MAP sensor inputs for boost.

Like I said, I haven't used one myself, but I've seen them in person, and seen decent numbers from 6th gen V6's. I don't know what the J30 makes to the wheels stock, but a friend of mine, CSmith98AV6, made 19Xwhp/17Xwtq through the autotragic tranny with I/H/E, pulleys and a Unichip. IcyAccord also made great numbers with his S/C j30 tuned with it. Just throwing that out there...

How could they be so expensive then? The cheapest I've seen for the J30 is just over $500.

I've heard of people claiming on AutoAnything that it does well, but other that say it's garbage.
