How to slam a 00 Civic?. NOT a DIY
Looking to lower my Civic.
I want to go pretty low to be honest. May sound stupid to some people, but I kinda want to tuck some tire.
Anyways, It sounds like my best way would be some coilovers since I haven't seen any springs go that low.
So what coilover set up could I do to keep it somewhat a nice daily. I know the ride will be a bit bumpy, but what is the best out there?
My limit is about $400-$500 TOPS. Want to keep it as low as possibly, but will do what it takes to get a decent ride.
So Im asking, whats good for how much? What combos do you have and liked?
YES, I have looked at the "slammed" thread, and have made some options. But I want to open those options since money isn't easy to come by for some people.
Car: 2000 Honda Civic. Stock EVERYTHING
Ride height: Hoping to go around 2.5 to maybe 3 inches.
Quality: Probably wont be better than stock, but hoping to get close to it.
Been looking at these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts...3A1|240%3A1318
With some skunk 2 coilovers....

The simple answer is: save more money.
You WILL NOT find anything worth a crap that will go that low for that amount of money. Period. Anything you do find will be very poor quality and go to hell in a relatively short amount of time.
Koni/GC, for example, is very high quality and those parts should last a very long time, several years at least, but it will cost you $700-$800. But if you think about it, it ends up being cheaper in the long run than replacing $400-$500 parts every couple of years because of their crap quality.
Don't be cheap and in such a rush to "slam" the car. Wait until you can do it right the first time. It's not like people will think you're "less cool" for not having slammed suspension. If they do, then they're idiots anyway.

just heat up the springs and compress them
or cut them.
two ghetto ways will get you where you want to go but you will have huge headaches
and spend more money than you want to.
don't forget alignment too.

I want to stay away from cutting, and using stock shocks.
I will be searching this as we speak, but how do you guys rate the Sleeve skunk 2 coilovers to the Ebay ones?
The look the same, but do they ride the same?
Thinking of those, and some good struts.

400-500 will get you a shitty ride if you want to go that low, like posted above your going to need atleast 700 plus if you want it to last more than a few months.

About $550 will get you Progress Series-II coilovers. I had them on my DA integra and was very satisfied with them. Later on I installed ground-control top hats on them and made things even better.
the way to get you car the lowest is by using EF coilovers .. we did it on my freinds car for ***** and giggles and this is what we got

if you did, where did it rub? Tire looks thick. Remember what size it was?
i suggest function and form type 1 coilovers.. apparently the biggest bang for your buck EVER... im planning on purchasing some and mine are only going to be 600 shipped!
The function and form type 1's i believe are 10k and 6k and ride very well as far as daily driving goes and are suppose to be one of the most comfortable.. even at that spring rate... i know it almost sounds too good to be true but ive read a lot of reviews on them and apparently they are the "new thing" No dampening adjustment though but who cares for that price! perfect the daily driver on a budget but wants the most performance for his money in my opinion or from what ive read anyway.
good luck!

I look on Ebay to see what the average price is.
Ebay usually has almost everything, so thats my first shot.
It depends where I look for what type of Item I need.
But thanks for the pointless post.
