Default Valve spring sticking???

93 accord LX

I replaced my lower spark plugs and reinstalled everything.

I got a new clicking noice. I rmoved the valve cover and noticed the rocker arm for the left exhaust spring on the #1 cylinder is skewed a millimeter or two to the right off center of the rocker arm. What does this mean, now it seems like when I crank the engine, that spring snaps back up and hits the rocker arm hard and causes the arm to hit the cam. What would cause this spring to be a little bit crooked?

What do i do?

If you didn't remove the spring, try looking for anything which might be pushing against one side.
If anything got between the head and the spring, that would cause it to tilt as well.

P,

Theres nothing touching the spring. it looks like the stem of the valve shaft is crooked, how would this happen. Is this a bent valve. P, you want a picture?

I can't concieve how it may have happened* on it's own, but yes - it does sound like the valve's bent. The hint being the valve binding in the guide and then releasing suddenly.
I refer to
[quote] "that spring snaps back up and hits the rocker arm hard and causes the arm to hit the cam" [quote]

It sounds like the upper valve stem has bent and sticks when pushed into the guide. This is opposite what normally happens (normally the valve HEAD bends).

P

a side strike with a hammer or dropping the head could cause this.....
