Default dx hatch ?'s

i need to get a new muffler and i was wondering what the exhaust diamiter was on a 90 dx hatch with a stock size exhaust.

my other question is that my d15b2 has oil in the intake tube and in the throttle body cover area "the plastic thing that says dpfi on it (not exactly sure what this is called). dose anybody have an idea what could be causing this? any input would be helpful.

-thanks alot
joey

The exact size of the piping im not sure but its probably 1 1/2" or so.

As for the oil, could be caused by excessive crankcase pressure or faulty pcv valve.

the oil situation is really confusing me due to the fact that i have a breather on the valve cover, so i really dont understand how the oil is getting all the way up there because the only thing that could be letting oil into it is the pcv valve that is all the way down on the intake manifold runner

Could be residual from when there was no breather...

The hose from the valve cover to the intake tube allows vapors and a small amount of oil to enter the intake tract which is normal. If everything is coated in oil that is excessive and there is a problem with the system.

change the pcv and put everything back to stock theres no need for fancy breathers especially on a dpfi...

don't feel bad... I have an 89 dx and I am suffering from the same problem... dpfi (if you haven't been told) means you have direct port fuel injection (you have 2 injectors per cylinder) you (like me) probably want mpfi (multi port fuel injection) 4 injectors per cylinder. But in the end its your choice. Just be fortunate that you are not in cali with carb regulations. Its annoying but I am making due. Good luck in your work on your engine though. Seriously.

2 injectors per cylinder? 4 injectors per cylinder? you mean you currently have 2 injectors for 4 cyl. and you want 4 injectors for 4 cyl? i hope thats what you mean, or you deffinately have to take a trip to the FAQ!
