I have found a 94 gsr untouched with 140k miles on it. It is unmolested. They want 4,000 for it from a dealership its a 2 door. You think that is a good price?

if the engine compression and leakdown are good yes. if it's low and burning oil no.

 

^^Looks clean from the outside,but it motor has to run strong. Bring your own compression test to test the car

With a little more money you can find a newer GSR with less miles. Or if you find a private seller. But from the pics the body of that '94 looks real straight. Good price coming from a dealer.

 

is that rust up around the strut towers or am i seeing things? looks like a new power steering pump.

about what numbers should the compression be at 150-175?

 

Probably higher than that. The main thing is that they are all pretty similar. Last time I did a compression test on my LS, the readings we 180 - 180 - 178 - 180.

 

well i checked it and it said around 200-250

 

does that sound about right?

 

most healthy gsr ive seen is 210-230. compression test tells you the health of the compression rings not oil control rings

my compression was 165-210-195-175 on my gsr lol but it should be around 200-250 to be healthy..
check for leaks, check if clutch is good, check if any grinds,,misc stuff like that

4000 is good but then DO NOT i quote DO NOT buy anything they offer you like extended warranties

its not going to be 4gs after TAX and license fees so imo just go private seller

 

or offer 4k closed, this means the total with you driving is 4k

 

you can probly find a 98 for that price if you look deep or just for a little bit more with lower miles. i got mines for 3grand 160,000 and so much **** was wrong with it! didnt know til i had it, didnt check it out well so i got ripped off plus it has quarter panel damage but its alright...too late now

 

don't rush urslef in getting it if you can find something better but that one looks clean inside and out already
