aftermarket torsion bar 86 crx si
I got these 27.5mm bars from upgrade motoring and im having problems getting them in. heres a pic of the two. stock on the left with alignment groove , the new ones dont have, so im having trouble getting them in.. Am i doing something wrong?

On my crx, I actually made the wide hump inside the tube into 2 splines with a triangular file, so I could insert the tbar one or two splines off for lowering. Be sure to make alignment marks so you know where "stock" is...
Wasn't there also some info on inserting the torsion bar from "the other end", or something like that, because of the thickness of the 27.5 mm bars?
Just asking/saying, because I've got a set of those sitting around somewhere as well for my 85 Si.

You must grind off one spline on the front of each bar (you can do this with a die grinder with a very thing wheel, or wiht a cutoff wheel being very careful only only grind that one spline away and not your body parts as well). Make sure that the spline you rgrind off you go deep enough, but not too deep, and also you will have to go farther back then the spines actually are so it will fit all the way into the front of the subframe. You then insert them from the rear. You do not need to modify the tubes or the splines in the subframe.
i got them in tonight. went for a ride. big difference! i cursed and yelled, and evenb bloodied a knuckle or two but it was worth it. i just keyed them like the stock ones..
