good luck runnin 90mm, you have to notch the sleeves to get them to fit, and it weakens them. Not to mention the side loading of a piston that size your rods will push againt the side of the cylinder instead of on the bottom of the piston. I'd tell him to run 89mm and be done with it. Much safer and the gains from 89 to 90mm would be minimal.

I replied to your post in the tech forum, but I'm too lazy to retype... But I agree, 89mm might be a better idea for him.

yeah you won't keep a head gasket worth a damn at 90 mm. i dunno about the side loading, that doesn't make any sense.......it's stock stroke.

I could be wrong about that, but I have heard it from a few peeps...they had aftermarket rods with the pins moved closer to the rings and they were getting bad marks on the cylinders from side loading.

You can do it (90mm), but be prepared to have to replace head gasket frequently. Based on my experience, I would suggest going no bigger than 89mm. Also with thinner walls, you will get cylinder distortion (cylinder will become oval shaped over time).

You should see the inside of my engine... Very clean Just pulled the head off 2 days ago. 89mm works the best IMHO. The side loading you are talking about in a stock h22a is not nearly as bad as in my stroker, so don't worry too much.

What is the piston size with a standard (per factory manual) .020" overbore? (1996 H22A) Would the cylinder still be strong enough for a serious STREET all motor setup (no nitrous)? I've got a scratch in my cylinder I don't think honing will take out.
