Default Help with diagnosing engine start problem please

A buddy of mine has a stock 1991 Honda Civic EX with starting problems. It cranks, sounds normal when cranking, and catches as if it is going to start... but then dies. Anyone have an idea on what the problem could be?

might be fuel issue, check to see if fuel is coming through atleast the rail..id check your injectors too. also mark sure you got good spark

Thanks.

I have not personally looked at the car, but i might stop by tomorrow. According to my friend he has already changed the main relay and distributor... LOL. There is what he has described as a valve cover gasket leak and he has wiped everything clean. They disconnected the fuel line at the fuel rail and theres fuel flowing. And theres spark.
