I have another accord related question for you folks.

I have a 2001 Accord EX sedan with the 6 disc CD/ tape player combo. I have noticed that with the option of the V6 added onto the EX package you get standard steering wheel mounted radio controls and that with the 4 cyl (such as mine is) it is a option.

I want to add this option to my car. As it would be both handy and also add symmetry to the look of the steering wheel.

Do I have to replace the entire steering wheel to add this option or do I simply buy the unit and the wire and assorted hardware(i.e. bolts etc) remove the air bag and install the unit and put the air bag back onto the steering wheel?

Im pretty sure you wont need a whole new steering wheel. Youll just need the module and any wire harness thats associated with it.

 

can you post a pic of a v6 steering wheel? i never knew there was such a option on a 6th gen ... i have or should i say had the same cd/tape combo as you but my friend broke it ...

The audio controls look just like the CC's
