Upgrades for a 01' Accord EX V6
Hey Guys,
I have been a proud owner of a 2001' Honda Accord EX V6 w/Vtech for about 5 months now.
I'm not extremely tech literate, but so far I have installed a cold air intake, jdm fog lights and upgraded the head lights to super brights.
I was wondering what other upgrades can be done to the car for performance and look without going over-board (im not a fan of body kits and/or getting attention from cops).
I was thinking about purchasing two sets of HID kits (low beams and some real bright high beams). Not sure if that's a good idea or what products to go with.
I do not have a set budget, I do not want to go with the cheap routes for my car- so by all means money is not an issue.
Any input would be awesome.

Well personally Im a fan of the HID kits - when their done right anyway. They can be bought off ebay for about $100 or less, and come in many bulb retrofit styles and Kelvin temps (colors). Dont waist your money on the "name-brand" kits... there all the same and all made in China. Keep in mind the higher the kelvin temperature (in other words the more exotic.. and illegal.. the color) the dimmer the light output will be. Anything over 10K's tend to get a little dark, and of course will begin to attract the attention of local cops with nothing better to do (my avatar picture is my car with my 10K HIDs). A 6K retrofit would probably be quite nice for your car, and as an added benefit HIDs generally last much longer, and dont burn out constantly like halogen bulb systems. Just be sure to correctly aim your headlights afterwords since HID's change the refraction of the light out of the housing a little different.
As far as performance is concerned, that depends on what you want.
You already have increased the flow on the intake side of your engine, so you could also increase the flow on the exiting side of your engine with a higher flowing exhaust system and headers. Of course this will make your car louder- but slightly more powerful and maybe even a tad more fuel efficient.
Im assuming since you have the Accord V6 that you have the J30A1 engine, which depending on the year either is, or is not a coil-over-plug setup regarding the ignition. At the least you could take some time to install new ignition parts like better spark plugs, and spark plug wires (if not a C.O.P. system).
So, those are the basics, anything more and you will start getting into some more serious and more expensive engine upgrades such as an engine build, turbocharging, nitrous etc.
For the rest of the car, a few basic body modifications can make a car handle much better like:
-Larger (and better) looking wheels / lower profile tires
-suspension drop kit / new shocks
-Front strut bar
-Polyurethane bushings
Anyway good luck and have fun!
