Hello everyone.

I just wanted to let you know that the car is now finished. They tranny swap is comeplete except the tranny mounts have not come in yet so there is still a lot of vibration. We are breaking in the clutch anyways so we aren't revving that hard.

I had to drive the matrix to the train station today but the teg was in back of the car so I had to move it. It took me five minutes to back up the car and pull it out of the matrix's way! I'm still learning how to drive stick so I let it roll down the driveway in nuetral HAHHAHAHAAHH!

The only things left to do is make a boot for the shifter and paint and mount the WW lip and side skirts. After that, the teg is going to be finished.

Nice glad to see you happy with a 5spd swap, I'm dreaming your reality as we speak, and saving the pennies for the expensive process.

It was kinda expensive... next time, I'm going to get a car with a factory turbo and manual. This was too much work

Once the clutch gets broken in, my brother is going to take it to the track to see what it runs.

how much did it cost, and where did it get done?

 

I'm in a Chicago suburb and I got it done at Garage Kwai (my brother seems to like that place) for a couple bucks short of 3 grand.

I'm sure that you can find places that do it for cheaper though. Some places around here will do it for a little over 2 grand.

 

what turbo do you have in your car? you didn't like the turbo auto ?

 

turbo auto sucked - the tranny slips and eventually it will blow. That is what happened to mine - it blew so I got it swapped out. I'm running a t3/t4 from the revhard stage4 two kit. I still have the turbo, just not the auto
