Default 96 Accord Starting issue

Whats up everybody, ive had this issue about 2 months now and i havent found a solution.96 accord lx,non vtec 5spd.its started slow once in awhile it would take forever turning it over and then it would start eventually, now it rarely starts.ive replaced the main fuel relay with a good one and thought i had it fixed the the next day problem started again.with the relay in i have verified power to the relay and spark, check engine light stays solid throughout, then sometimes it will flash during starting and car will start.no fuel pressure until the check engine light flashes.I have bypassed the relay by connecting pin 1,3 and 7 on the harness and the first time i tried it it started.now it will not.when the relay is bypassed i have spark and fuel pressure.I have no way of retrieving codes from the ecu,it would cost me hundreds to tow the car back and forth to a shop for this.any help would be greatly appreciated

I suggest putting a volt meter between the two battery terminals and watch the battery voltage while cranking. You need a minimum voltage to drive both the ECM and such. I believe anything below 9.5 volts starts shutting stuff off, the flashing "check engine' lamp may be a reaction to low voltage spikes from the starter cranking. Voltages to look for:
Battery Voltage (car 'off'): 12.5v
Battery Voltage (car running (no load): 14.2v
Battery Voltage (car running (all on): 13.8v

Has the ignition switch ever been replaced in this car? It may be working intermittantly.

sorry i can't be more difinitive (yet)

P

i will check these voltages, the only time the check engine light flashes is once right before it starts.if it doesnt flash it doesnt start.ill see what voltages im getting at the battery.ill post when asap.

also, some more info since ive been at this a couple of months.i spray throttle body cleaner into the intake with relay bypassed and with relay in,both times it tried to start for a second.i tested my relay on another car and i know its good.i have power to the relay and ive tested spark at the plugs more than once also at bl/yl wire on dist.im getting power there.i only get fuel pressure when bypassing the relay.Unless a miricle happens and the holy check engine light flashes once and the car starts.I bought the car in sept last yr from original owner,he says the check engine light came on after an oil change last yr and it was the first time ever.

i have been knee deep in these manuals for 2 months now.I was reading through some ecu flowcharts after testing the injecter resister and it said if the mil would come on and not go off to try unplugging a senser at a time to see if it would go off.Well, this is something that i did both times the car started to one sensor in perticular because i was spraying throttle body cleaner inside the intake,so i had to disconnect the map sensor both times and at that time it started both times and lite would go out and come back on and i tried that today a what do ya know, lite goes off,car starts.now i need to know first will the Map sensor cause it not to run,so far it seems to have been causing mine not 2 and i also need to know if the sensor is disconnected is it normal for it to have a really low idle? i mean barely idling about 1-2 on guage?
