Default Newbie with 94 Accord

Ok so my wife has an Accord that is pretty much getting on it's last leg. The body is in good shape and the motor(F22B2) is relatively strong albeit clocked in at 218k miles. It has a coolant leak I'm finding difficult to track down and there's some steamy smoke stuff coming that comes through the vents occasionally. We're going to be getting her a new car sometime after we move to Denver but that isn't till October. I hate to see a good car go to waste so I need your help. What's the best way to get this baby back in shape long enough until she gets her new car. And AFTER she gets her new car and I get to have some fun with it since it's not her only means of transportation. What's the best way to mod this sucker? I mean everything, most popular/best swap, exterior mods, wheels, interior, everything.

I'm knowledgeable about cars, I've had an AE86, 280Z, 2 3000GT's and a Corvette. But this is my first time with a Honda.

HELP!

well first try lookin on the back side of the intake mani, there is a water pipe that goes from the t-stat to the water pump. On it there is a hose that goes to the heater core maybe there is a small leak on that hose an it is dripping on to the exhaust and that is how uur gettin that white smoke in uur vent

You may be the proud owner of a three (3) pound leaking Heater Core. The hint is the 'steamy smoke you aspy coming from the a/c vents. Check out the carpet at the passenger's feet and look for any moisture. Look up behind the clove box and look for moisture on the heater case.

Have you ever found a coolant puddle under the engine's timing belt area when you first come out in the morning?
If so, you may have a waterpump deciding to do "the nasty'. Water Pumps normally leak with the engine off, and the system de-pressurized.

Damn, it looks like you guys are right. Can the heater core be "temporarily" fixed with some stop leak until I can replace it? It seems to also be leaving fogging up the windshield whenever the defroster is used (therefore doing the exact opposite of what I want) and leaving a film on the inside. The puddle does look like it's coming from the water pump but it's a very small leak so I might put that off until it starts warming up a bit. My garage isn't insulated and it's 30 degrees out right now.

So the H22 is the most common/best swap for this thing? Are there "bolt in" kits out there or do I have to fab everything up? What about the K20? I'd ideally like to end up with a turbo'd motor that still retained some decent gas mileage. What about the tranny? It has the stock auto in at the moment and I'd like to keep an auto in it but it's not as important.

H22 is the most common. Its "almost" a direct swap, check the FAQ`s. HASPORT has mounts for the k series swap these days. I am turbo and my F22B2 gets good gas mileage. For the tranny, swap a 5speed in there.
