99 accord suspension
Hey guys, I have tokico illuminas struts with skunk2 racing springs on my car (99 accord 4dr 4cyl) now. The struts are on the softest setting. I have tried all kinds of lower springs and i can't find the ones that will let me sit on the tire in the front for the aggressive look. Anyone have an idea that will allow me to do this? I have had number one springs, neuspeed racing springs, and eibach ground controls sleeve and springs, and now i am back to my skunk2. Is it because my struts are too long or what? I just can't figure it out what is going on....and all the money i have spent together....i could have gotten some nice true coilovers. Could someone help me out. Oh yea, i got 18in wheels with 35 series tires on them. Finally, i have a about 1.5in gap in the front remaining that I want to get rid of.
Thanks
Thanks
i tried the eibach sleeve n spring coilovers.....i still had a little bit more than a 1in gap~ Can i take the strut bushing out by myself or do i have to take it to the mechanic to get to them?? meaning...do i have to the assembly apart? how much lower would the car go if i take those out if they are still on my car?
thanks for the responses.

I think what he was saying is you need to cut the bump stops (rubber bushings) on the shocks. Usually have to chop about half of it off. This allows the shock a bit more travel without bottoming out.
As for the coilovers, they're not all created equal. Eibach coilovers may not allow you to dump the car, but IMO they know what they're doing, and they know dumping it is not good. Some other companies who make coilovers are less concerned with safety, ride quality and driveability, and design their products so you can dump it as low as you want.

oh ok. Thanks for all the advice.
I sort of an idea where i would put my old eibach sleeves on in the front and the skunk2 in the rear to have a level drop i like. My friend has a '00 3.2TL and he wants to split the eibach sleeve n springs with me. He is going to put 2 of the sleeves on his front and im going to put the other 2 sleeves in my front. We were wondering if one of us put the rear springs of the eibach sleeves in the front of our car.....how would it work out? The diameter of all 4 eibach sleeves are the same, length is same, but the coils are thicker than the other (but not by much). If it drops too much, then we can just adjust the sleeve, rite? I know the rear springs of the eibach are not made for the front, but we were going to test it out....any advice or comments?

Do not mix springs. Springs sets are generally balanced with specific spring rates for the front and the rear depending on the weight of the car and the handling/ride quality they were designed for. Mixing different ones could make the car very skittish and unstable over bumps or around corners.
aite thnx guys. I decided i was going to the put old front ground control sleeves in the front again and keep the skunk2 in the rear, but before that ....i will try to cut the strut bushings a little if they are not cut and see if it will lower the car but i doubt it will lower and i believe the strut bushing is important for rubbing??
