Default I have to go to the referee

I was driving around when all of a sudden I got pulled over and the female officer told me I had an expired registration sticker on my license plate. So I told her that I had forgot to put my new one on which was in my glove compartment along with my registration. So all was good until she asked me to pop my hood. So long story short I have to go to the referee to get everything checked out and get BAR'D.

I have a DA with a JDM GSR engine, I/H/E and a skunk2 intake manifold with a stock ported thorttle body tuned on a p06 on crome. So I will change everything back to stock along with a p72 ECU for the time being. Now I want to leave my skunk2 intake manifold on because it is CARB legal, but the problem is I cant find my skunk2 CARB sticker. My friend has his skunk2 sticker that I can barrow, but are the numbers on each of the skunk2 CARB stickers different or are they the same ? Can anyone confirm this ?

if ur IM doesnt have a Carb # then u will not be able to use it bcuz the Ref will check those #s to make sure its for that motor and for that part...even the ecu has to have the right #s on them and im not talking about jsut the P72 part, even the last 3 #s after that they will check which tells u what year that ecu is..

If the ref. is strict you will fail just for having a JDM B18C. He may even fail you if you have the C.A.R.B. sticker cause the numbers on the sticker will show in the system for what type of car the IM is made for. Either way, you are gonna get the shaft.

I will have to disagree with you. No matter how strict a Referee is, they can not fail you for having such an engine. As long as there was a USDM version of the same engine then it is fine as long as it has all the factory smog equipment that the specific car came with; For example, civics with LS and gsr swaps are perfectly able to get a california BAR to make the swap legal as long as it has all the factory smog equipment.

And from what I know, the first generation skunk2 manifold does not have any numbers on it any where from looking at mine and looking at numerous others.

does a cop have to have reason to check under your hood or can he just rder you to pop it for no reason? like i know they ahve to have a specific reason to get you to open your trunk, they can ask al they want but its just asking, they cant make you do it unless they can reasonably suspect something. (learned that from an ex highway patrol man)
and say your hood had the locking hood pins and yu just forgot the key to it at home, could they really do anything about it?

they usually pull u over for a BS reason and then start askin u if u have any illegal mods under ur hood and so on..i even heard of ppl getting pulled over for a 3rd brake light out...even if u say NO they will ask u to pop ur hood for them..now u can probably say NO but then they will prob start to harass u and tow ur car, get a warrant or something and eventually get ur hood open...same goes for if u had hoodlocks too..

when i got pulled over after taking off from a redlight, they said my car was too loud which was BS cuz i was stopped at the light and didnt even rev my engine or nething..as soon as they pulled me over they said:
cop: Do you know why i pulled you over?
me: no
cop: your car is too loud
me: ok
cop: do you have any Illegal mods under your hood?
me: nope
cop: pop your hood please

i tought for a sec. if i should say i lost forgot my keys to the locks on my hood but i didnt wanna get my car towed so i just popped my hood for them...after waitin for them to take pictures, ask me stupid questions they gave me a modified emissions ticket + noisy exhaust

Everyone I know that has been pulled over and given a ref ticket has just paid the fine. So I'm assuming that you can just pay the fine and not go to the state ref.

u can but then it might be hard for u to register the car when ur tags are up and if u get pulled over a 2nd time it COULD be double the fine or so i heard..its a $300+ flat fine for a mod emissions ticket

A few or actually most of they guys I roll with have gotten them and just paid them. One of them has been given 3 in the last year (thats what he gets for driving around open header and then open downpipe) and had no problem "smogging" it and registering.

Im actually probably just going to go to the ref and get my car BAR'd so I wont have to deal with this ever again. I am sure itll pass, I found my CARB sticker for my intake manifold.

The car is a 92 integra which is obd1 from the factory and the motor is an OBD1 japanese GSR from HMO. Everything is stock now except for my skunk2 intake manifold which I have the carb sticker for and I am still using my P06 ECU which was tuned on crome. All I have to do is barrow my friend's P72 for the REF check and all should be good.

Also does anyone know where I am suppose to put the skunk2 CARB sticker ?

I will keep everyone updated on everything incase anyone else goes through the same thing then they can use this as reference.

Take it to the ref.

Make sure you have a working CAT with the O2 sensor in the correct spot, on the CAT.
Make sure you have the Evap Purge Solenoid Valve. JDM B18C doesn't have this.
Your ECU must say P72-A01.
Check to make sure you have your PCV valve.

BTW, good decision on getting it BAR'd. It's only $8 for unlimited trials. Do it before the state shut them down again.

My buddy has a BAR'ed GSR in his EG hatch, and even with the BAR plate on his firewall another cop still gave him a ticket to go to the ref. Cop told my buddy he could smell his emissions were to high as he was behind my buddy at a stop light.
