ok im thinking about making some hood spacers so the rear of my hood tilts up ive heard people use a whole bunch of washers and long bolts but has any 1 made 1 out of metal if so id like to see it and get some ideas for it

cool if they do, i was thinking about a metal plate welded on the arms for my hood and was wondering if somebody else had some better ideas other then longer bolts and washers

 

Honda sells things called 'hood shims'. I've never bought one to see how thick they are, but they may do the trick for you.

 

i look into them and see if i can make a copy set

 

they look like i can make a set easy on a plasma cam

 

i whent to the hardware store and bought some metal spacers and longer bolts.. looks good.. people think im running dual cam..lol

 

I used diff. car brackets and mine look better, u dont see spacers...and passwordjdm.com has some

Good heavens just get some washers at local hardware. Don't make it so hard. Cracks me up when people over think things.

 

I think using hood spacers makes the car look like crap but I understand it if you have done a swap and your hood wont close.

Doing it just to do it......I dont know about that!

 

actually, i used some exhaust springs and 2 rubber washers on each side of the springs, it worked great and didnt look as ghetto as a million washers. with my gsr, i had to raise the hood about a good inch and 1/4 to clear the valve cover.

jdm hood= more clearance than usdm

 

a buddy used the thick valve cover washers on his dohc swap...worked fine and FREE from worthless d series(low comp., etc.)
