Window tint - Nice or rice
ok maybe not rice, but i used the term because folks on h-t seem to use it to describe things they dont like. So post your opinions if you like it or not.
I live in texas and its going to start to get hot. Window tint def. helps with interior heat and is very popular in the south. How many of you guys beleive that window tint looks good. Some guys say its rice other love the look. Post pics if you would like to prove your point.

good quality tint & not too dark looks classy imo. i don't have it on my Civic because i don't want additional attention, but if i had any other car, i'd def have some nice tints.
not rice LOL too an extent. i think doin all your windows straight black in CA when you know damn well it's illegal to do the fronts is rice tho. stupidest thing ever to get pulled over for next to no front plate. if i lived in a super hot state you bet your *** i'd have tint tho

I can't really vote because it depends on the car and what it's used for. Our Fit has dark tint and I love it. Having two kids, it's a necessity in the summer. My EF sedan, on the other hand, just gets me to and from work and it's always garaged so I prefer the no tint look.
i started this cuz i have been noticing an increase of good looking cars without it and im on the fence about getting it. I see a lot of cali cars that look real good without tint. Just wanted to get everyones 2cents on it.
theres been sooooo many threads about this, tint looks good, depends on the car...as long as you can get away with it in your town/city.

Personal opinion: black tint makes your car look super cheap and cartoony. Colored tint is even worse, that's one of the main weapons in the ricer arsenal IMO.
I've seen very very nice rides on this site that were completely ruined by M4D L1M0 TINTZ Y0!

still a mystery to me how anyone could not like tint, provided its not illegally dark is totally functional, significantly drops heat in vehicle and makes it more comfortable when the sun is out, but this is from me being in florida ... (even illegally dark tint provided its not TOO extreme)
here in TX the cop cars can roll with limo tint installed but us civilians cant. Lame. But i guess who cares, too dark is ugly

I don't mind not having tint. Kind of thinking of getting 35% though. Anything darker than that looks tacky, IMO. Depending on the car, of course.
IMO, 35% looks perfect. I can dig no tint, but some cars just look complete with a slightly darker set of windows.
BUT... it has to be done by someone who knows what they are doing. And it has to be high quality. Cheap, purpleish, DIY-looking tint can ruin a car.

I enjoy the look of tint and the advantages that it comes with, but I'm not going to generalize. Like all automotive visual modifications, there are good ways and bad ways to apply it to your car.
I personally have 35% tint on my black hatch and I love it. Not too extreme, and you'll be able to pull it off just fine.
