Icon2 Cruise Control Switch Bulbs

I pulled out the cruise control switch on my prelude today to get out the blue illumination bulb which i need to replace cause its blown. In the process i accidently took out the green bulb which comes on when you activate cc. This green bulb was working, anyway i put it back in. When i put the switch back in the car the green light didnt work anymore. So i pulled out the switch again and checked the bulb with a 12v power source to find it was blown. I used a flat head screw driver to remove and replace the bulb and i was wondering if that might have been a bit too rough on the tiny little thing and busted the wiring or if i just had really bad luck and the bulb blew on me. Anyway my Q is, is there a better way to remove and replace these small bulbs without damaging them?
I just ordered 5 replacement ones, as i intend to fix all the dash lights which are currently busted, and i dont wont to f*$k them when i install them on Monday.

i wouldn't think a flathead would cause problems. i would guess it was close to going out and the jostle of removing and installing the switch assembly finally killed it. i've replaced the bulbs in my cc switch too and never had a problem.

Yeah, i hope it was just close to going out, and that removing it and putting it back in finally killed it. Thanks for the input. I will just be real careful putting the new ones in.

Well, i got the new light bulbs from Honda today and installed them all. They all work no problems.

Here are the part no.'s for the ones i replaced in case anyone else needs to replace theirs also.

The green one in the cruise control switch is: HO-35851SM4003
The blue one in the cruise control switch is : HO-35851SS0003
The blue one in the sunroof switch is the same as above.
The blue bulb in the ashtray is : HO-35506SA5003
The blue bulb for the cigarette lighter is the sam as above.

I will be using the blue astray and cigarette lighter lights for my new guages once i finish installing them, i have already tested them and they work perfect.

I got them from the Honda Parts store at my local Honda Dealer, they only cost a few dollars.

Important Info: Keep the little coloured rubber caps from your old bulbs, to put on your new bulbs, so you dont have to buy them as well.
