Default Does anyone know anything about JDM Diesels?

I'm kinda interested in a quirky swap with my car, and have been looking into the Diesel from the JDM civic. I know I'd need to custom make a few things but that's par for the course. I would most likely try to arrange a full front clip from a Japanese importer here in Toronto, just to have all the parts.

um as far as i know diesel needs between 15 and 20 compression ration to ignite and if you can build a Honda engine to 20cr then that would be amazing
And i am shure that u would spend a ton of money on it.

I am just guesing

Huh? Honda makes Diesel engines in Japan, I would import this engine.

so I've found two potential engines to swap, first one is called the "circle-L" engine and it was in the ek and other chassis in Europe and Japan.. It's made by Isuzu. specs are vague as it was used in a lot of different cars

Second is the N22A, which is used in the new Euro accords and use the same mounts as a K-series. it puts out an impressive 251ft·lbf @ 2000 rpm

that would feel pretty nice in a 2300# car..

Go for it and post photos/details ! I'd love to see a diesel ek.. I wonder how well they take more boost

I would go for the latter. From what little I have read up on them, they are very impressive engines. Great torque and great mileage.

And if it really uses K mounts, the swap shouldn't be overly difficult.

Go look up "compound turbocharger" on Google. Diesels don't have to worry about detonation (to my knowledge) and can run absurd boost because of it. So, you run the pipes out of 1 turbo and into another.
