Default TPMS on 06 Civic Si rim

I just bought a 08 Civic lx sedan. I have a set of 06/07 non TPMS rims. I want to swap my sensors from my 08 steel rims to the Si rims. Will this work? I talked to the dealership and a friend that worked for Honda and they said that the sensors may not work. Will the sensors throw the weight off to much? Will the sensor fit properly on the rim or is the mounting surface different? Thanks!

We do that at America's/Discount Tires all day long. Swapping Tire Pressure Monitoring System sensors is not that easy. It ALL DEPENDS if the wheels have the same sensor seat as the original rim that it came from. If it doesn't, take it to a wheel shop that specialize in drilling a hole to make the TPMS sensor fit. The sensors won't throw off the balancing on the wheels. We'll even reset your TPMS for FREE.
